New Orange Kitty still doesn't have a name, though I'm sort of leaning toward Calcifer, after the fire demon in Howl's Moving Castle. He is a little demon -- I can tell by the scratch marks on my arm.

We've been having really odd (for New England) weather. Almost every evening, we have thunderstorms. It reminds me of North Carolina.

I can never think of a title, so "Hello" seems to be the default. Later, of course, I'm going to look through my diaries and wonder wtf I was thinking, not giving entries descriptive titles. Kind of like how I used the same title for several different conference presentations (the papers were actually different, to some degree or another, but you wouldn't know that from looking at my CV). Basically, I'm a lazy idiot.

On Saturday, my eye doctor diagnosed me with bacterial conjunctivitis and sent me on my way with a prescription for an antibiotic eyedrop. Well, he actually had the receptionist call it in, but that's beside the point. The doctor assured me that I should feel a lot better by Sunday.

I was going to post this tomorrow, but then I realized that I'm going to spend as little time in front of my computer as possible tomorrow, so now's the time to post.

Tomorrow is USian Mother's Day.

For me, it's been awful, listening to the ads encouraging me to buy something for my mother. "She's fucking dead," I tell the dude on the radio, wanting me to get the flowers I've bought for her for the last three years. He doesn't listen and continues to prattle on about deadlines for ordering flowers to be delivered out of state.

It hurts.
